Abhimanyu Mukherjee promises a laugh riot in his next

Since his directorial debut ‘Noor Jahan’ earlier this year Abhimanyu Mukherjee has his hand full of exciting projects. While the young director is at present busy with shooting a social satire ‘

’, he has another comedy caper lined up which stars Srabanti Chatterjee, Soham Chakraborty, Om Sahani, Kanchan Mullick, Biswanath Basu, Darshana Banik and Subhasish Mukherjee among others.

It will simply be a laugh riot, don’t seek any serious social message – Abhimanyu has already made it clear. “It’s a hilarious comedy, beginning from the very first scene. Frankly speaking, you don’t need to invest too much thought in the film. Neither there’s any social message. We just want the audience to visit the hall, laugh a lot and go home,” said the director.

Interestingly, in his last film ‘Piya Re’ also Abhimanyu had Soham Chakraborty and Srabanti Chatterjee in the lead. While the film he is currently shooting, stars Ritiwick Chakraborty and Srabanti in the lead.

Young actress Darshana Banik who plays a middle-class girl from North Kolkata is excited to work with a bunch of experienced actors: “I always wanted to work in a commercial film. I am thankful to Abhimanyu da for giving me this opportunity. I can’t wait to start shooting with Om, Srabanti and Soham da, whom I have been watching for many years.”

The comedy flick, bankrolled by Eskay Movies, will go on floors later this month.
