“I am witnessing deaths one after another and every time I have been asked to give my reaction. But this time I just simply can’t give it. I can’t believe Abhishek is no more. I still remember I was the bor korta at his wedding. Now I just want to treasure all the good memories with him. I don’t have anything else to say,” a heartbroken Prosenjit has shared.

Abhishek Chattopadhyay who has been a known face in the industry for years passed away due to a suspected heart attack at his Kolkata residence in the wee hours of Thursday. He was 58 and is survived by his wife and daughter. According to reports, he fell sick while shooting for a reality show on Wednesday.

Abhishek was one of the most popular stars of Bengali cinema in the late 80s and early 90s alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee, Tapas Paul, Chiranjeet Chakraborty. He started his film journey with ‘Pathbhola’, directed by Tarun Majumdar, in 1986.

There was a time when a certain section of the industry wanted to provoke both Prosenjit and Abhishek for a duel and wanted to create a difference between them. However, the two actors managed to withstand all these provocations and respected each others. Abhishek ruled the
