When
Aritra Mukherjee’s next ‘Fatafati’ was announced
Ritabhari Chakraborty who plays the lead in the film had said that she felt so glad that
Abir Chatterjee came on board despite knowing that this is a women-centric film and as a human being, he is a perfect gentleman. He is a star devoid of any starry air or tantrums. Since then fans have been eagerly waiting to see these two pairing up onscreen for the first time. Just like the freshness in Abir and
Rukmini Maitra’s pair in the film ‘Switzerland’ peoplea are excited to see their adorable chemistry on camera.
On
Valentine’s Day, while the world was busy in celebrating love two new character posters of Abir and Ritabhari were dropped online and it made fans all too excited. In the first poster we can see Abir’s character hugging Ritabhari from behind and the next one shows Abir helping Ritabhari in draping a saree. Both the posters beautifully sum up the true essence of love.
‘Fatafati’ in which Abir plays Ritabhari’s loving husband celebrates all the free-spirited, strong and brave women and imparts a message against body shaming in the society. It’s story of a plus-size fashionista who raises questions against the socially accepted concept of “Perfect Body”. The film promises women to realize and love themselves for who they are and respect their own body. Size and shape do not matter as every woman is beautiful in her own unique way.
Speaking about the film Ritabhari had earlier shared with ETimes, “Fatafati’s journey has been more than a film to me – It’s something I have lived, it’s something most girls have lived at some point and are still living,” adding that, “I am much more confident as a person after working in this film. I realised staying fit is more important than being fat or thin. It is engraved in one’s mind that to be beautiful one has to have an hourglass figure. But the reality is far from it.”
The social drama, also featuring Swastika Dutta in a key role, is set to release in theatres on May 12.
