In his recently released
‘Sultan: The Saviour’
, Jeet himself lent his voice for the title track and now according to industry sources,
Abir Chatterjee is following his footsteps.
The Tollywood heartthrob is reportedly ready to do playback singing in his upcoming
‘Manojder Advut Bari’
.
Directed by
Anindya Chatterjee, the upcoming thriller sees Abir as the long-lost prince Kandarponarayan of Horingawr who becomes a key member of a dacoit gang.
Rajatava Dutta plays another dacoit and these two actors will be seen singing a duet. Titled as
‘Dakat Hobo Aste Aste’
and composed by Shilajit, this song will have some funny sequences.
However, this is not the first time Abir is doing playback. In Raj Chakraborty’s 2015 hit 'Katmundu’ also he lent his voice for one song. It has become a trend for Bengali actors to playback in their films just like Bollywood. Earlier,
Paoli Dam in ‘Natoker Moto’ and Sohini Sarkar in
‘Durga Sohay’
also went behind the microphone.
Meanwhile, ‘Manojder Adbhut Bari’ is based on the popular story by Shirshendu Mukhopadhyay and it stars
Soumitra Chatterjee, Sandhya Roy, Bratya Basu, Shilajit and Sohag Sen in the lead.
