Asur
’ has created quite a lot of noise, especially after the release of the official trailer. Starring
Jeet,
Abir Chatterjee and
Nusrat Jahan, this
Pavel directorial explores the complexities in friendship and the commercial benefits of art.
The plot also offers an interesting reference to the 2015 Durga Puja when there was a horrible stampede-like situation at the popular Deshapirya Park Puja to see the gigantic Maa Durga murti. The latest poster from ‘Asur’ also shows a Durga idol on the backdrop while the protagonists’ try to hide the emotional turmoil inside them.
Jeet here plays Kigan, a Biswa Bharati Kala Bhavan student, along with his friend Aditi (Nusrat). Abir plays Bodhi, a English literature student who is now a corporate magnet, and the entire plot chronicles around their equation, that tackles the balance between friendship and enmity. While Kigan wants to challenge tradition with his original art form, Bodhi who masquerades as Kigan’s friend feels jealous to see Kigan succeeding. Whereas, Aditi tries to maintain the peace between them as she has full trust in Kigan’s art form. Bodhi, on the other hand, is hell bend on stopping Kigan from creating his original artwork. Sounds interesting right!
