Sankar Chakraborty
,
Reshmi Sen and others.
While speaking about this initiative to work with more Indo-Bangladesh projects, filmmaker Arindam Sil said he is looking forward to more collaborative films involving the two neighbouring countries. “Despite having similar cultural backgrounds, not many films have been made by collaborating with Bangladesh. With this film, we are trying to ease this process and do more collaborative works in the future and release more films like 'Swapnojaal' in India,” the director said.
Staged on the backdrop of 1971 liberation war, ‘Swapnojaal’, Gias Uddin’s second directorial, sees the love story of Subhra and Opu, two people belonging to different religions. While Subhra comes from a middle-class Hindu family, Opu belongs to a Muslim family. How the couple fights all odds to reunite with each other forms the crux of the film.
