Ferdous
is in India attending a film festival in Agartala, Tripura. He reached India yesterday and will be here for 4-5 days. However, it’s yet to be known whether the actor will come to Kolkata.
In 2019, Ferdous Ahmed who has done quite a few hit Bengali films in the past was seen along with two other
Tollywood
actors,
Ankush Hazra and Payel Sarkar in Rainganj, an area close to the India-Bangladesh border. Back then, the actor was also ‘blacklisted’ by the
Union Home Ministry
, and it had jeopardised the chances of his future travel to India.
In fact, because of the ban imposed on him, the actor even missed out on an important role in the much-talked-about biopic of Bangabandhu Sheikh
Mujibur Rahman
, the first President of
Bangladesh
as the film was being made in Mumbai.
Later, Ferdous had said he realized it was a "mistake" to be involved in an election campaign of another country but he had done it "driven by emotion from the love of the people of West Bengal".
