wrote ‘Goopy Gayen Bagha Bayen’ and his grandson, the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray managed to immortalise the two iconic characters on screen with his ‘Goopy Bagha' trilogy. Now the next generation of Goopy and Bagha is all set to appear on the celluloid. Tollywood superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee's home production has just announced a yet to be titled movie which will bring the famous characters back.


Prosenjit reportedly discussed the story of this ambitious project with Satyajit Ray’s son Sandip Ray before making the big announcement. The shooting will start from next year.Ray’s ‘Goopy Bagha’ trilogy consists of three films namely 'Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne' (1968), 'Hirok Rajar Deshe' (1980) and 'Goopy Bagha Phire Elo' (1991). However, the last installment was directed by Sandip Ray, based on a story by Satyajit Ray at a time when the maestro was seriously ill.
