Bengali film awarded at Dhaka International Film Festival

has won the award of the Best screenplay at the 20th Dhaka International Film Festival recently. Besides, another Indian film, PS Vinothraj’s

Koozhangal

– county’s official entry to the Oscars this year – has won the award for the Best Film at the festival.

Along with Indranil, his co-writer Sugata Sinha also received the award. “Mayar Jonjal is a joint production from India and Bangladesh. Receiving an award at this festival feels like a recognition from home. Awards encourage us to make more films for our audience,” said Indranil. The film has earlier competed in the Asian New Talents section of the 23rd

Shanghai International Film Festival

(SIFF). Mayar Jonjal features

, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Bratya Basu,

Chandreyee Ghosh
