Bengali movies to be shown in Bangkok

FromRituparna Sengupta, Arpita, Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, Shantanu Moitra, RahulBose, Indraneil Sengupta, Babul Supriyo, Priyanshu Chatterjee, Rachana Banerjee,Barkha Bisht, Paoli, Indrani Halder, Gargi Roychowdhury, Shayan Munshi,Abhijeet, Rajatava Dutta, Kharaj Mukherjee to Dev, Koel Mallick, Rahul, PriyankaSarkar and Payel Sarkar, all those who are contributing to Tollywood in a bigway will be flying down to Bangkok to attend one of the biggest awardsceremonies of Bangla cinema. Titled FAB 10, the awards will see celebrities fromTollywood sharing space with their illustrious counterparts from Dacca includingKabari Sarwar, Abdur Razzak, Ferdous and Runa Laila.Ask Payel Dutta,programme head, FAB 10, why Bangkok was chosen as the venue for an awardceremony for Bengali language cinema from Kolkata and Dacca and she says,���������Bengali language cinema is appreciated globally. Since we are gettingluminaries from both India and Bangladesh, we wanted an international platform.Bangkok suited the bill for us. FAB 10 has been modelled on the IIFA Awards.Just as IIFA started its journey from Siam Paragom auditorium in Bangkok, sowill FAB 10.��������� Artistes have been nominated for 40 categoriesof awards including Best Mainstream Cinema, Best Actor Award, Critics ChoiceAwards and Emerging faces of the Bengali film industry. ���������BuddhadebDasgupta will be felicitated for his contribution to Tollywood. Special LifetimeAchievement Awards will be given to Suchitra Sen and Nayak Raj Rajjak ofBangladesh for their contribution to Bengali cinema,��������� Dutta adds.Awards apart, FAB 10 stage will also see scintillating performancesby Rituparna Sengupta, Arpita, Shayan Munshi, Dev and Payel. ���������BabulSupriyo will be performing and so will Jeet Gannguli. Chandrabindoo���������sAnindya has agreed to sing Bhin deshi tara. Runa Laila too be rocking the stagewith her folk number,��������� Dutta adds. On June 13, Raj Chakrabarty���������s LeChakka... will have its world premiere in Bangkok. The following day will alsosee the screening of Avik Mukhopadhyay���������s Ekti Tarar Khonje before theofficial announcements of the awards.
