Director Indranil Roychowdhury, whose short film Bhalobashar Shohor released on Friday, is on cloud nine. Within a couple of days of its release, the film is trending on the 6th position nationwide on YouTube. So far, the film has been viewed by more than 32K viewers. Excited at the success of the film, Indranil said that it is a vindication of some sort. “The popular perception is that audience rejects serious content and hence mainstream produces only loud Salman Khan-esque films. I wanted to challenge that conforming idea. That is the reason I released in online and now, when people are watching the film and appreciating it, my idea is getting its validation,” said the director.
The film that deals with the far-reaching crisis of war has been released on YouTube (for Indian and Bangladeshi audience) and Vimeo (for audiences abroad). It features Jaya Ahsan, Ritwick Chakraborty, Arun Mukhopadhyay, Sohini Sarkar and others in important roles.
