Atanu Ghosh whose films delve deep into the human mind, its nature, variety and complexity in a modern contemporary setting has received critical acclaims for his latest ‘Robibaar’ which released last December.

The National Award-winning filmmaker’s yet another film ‘

Binisutoy

’ which sees Ritwick Chakraborty and Jaya Ahsan sharing the screen for the first time has already started its festival journey. The film was earlier screened at the prestigious International Film Festival of Kerala on December 7, 8 and 10. And now, here’s another festival laurel for ‘Binisutoy’. The social drama will be screened at Aurangabad International Film Festival in the competition section on February 7 at 8 pm Screen 2 Inox, Prozone Mall.

While speaking about his upcoming film, the national award-winning director had earlier given us a sneak peek into what to expect from ‘Binisutoy’.

In ‘Binisutoy’, Kajal Sarkar (Ritwick Chakraborty) and Sraboni Barua (Jaya Ahsan) are two strangers who meet at the audition of a reality game show, and thereafter through some strange turns of events, the journey of these two people grow into an engaging drama of intrigue, surprise and enlightenment.

The film’s story penned by Atanu himself sheds light on the eternal quest for an alternative lifestyle. What’s more interesting apart from the unusual pair of Riwick and Jaya is that we would get to see Jaya Ahsan’s singing talent as well in the film. Beside Jaya Ahsan and Riiwick, the film has an ensemble cast including Kaushik Sen, Chandrayee Ghosh, Kheya Chattopadhyay and others in important roles.
