Paayel Sarkar turned a year younger today. “My father forgot that it's my birthday. It was when he saw my

for me that he remembered and wished me. He gave me money to buy a new dress, which I’m supposed to wear this evening,” said the
birthday
girl, adding that her mother made an elaborate lunch comprising pulao,
mutton
, fish and five types of vegetable fries. “Diet has taken a backseat today.”
As for her birthday resolution, Paayel said, “During the lockdown, I started learning French. But now, because of work pressure, I can’t give it much time. So, I plan to start learning the language again. That apart, my approach towards life has changed. The pandemic has taught me to enjoy simple things in life as everything is unpredictable. It has also made me more responsible as a person. I want to do better work and be a better human being.”
On the work front, Paayel is shooting for Pijush Saha’s Jal Bandhi. “It is a thriller based on a story written by Samaresh Majumdar. I play a girl called Riyanka who exhibits shades of grey,” informed Paayel, who just completed shooting for
Suman Maitra’s Simanto.
