Ever since Parambrata Chattopadhyay’s film ‘Boudi Canteen’ was announced it created a buzz among cine lovers and when the shooting kicked off, Subhashree Ganguly’s adorable look as a middle-class housewife won everyone’s heart. The trailer of the slice-of-a-life drama, inspired by India-born British chef Asma Khan is out now and it lives up to the expectation with a simple yet heartwarming concept.

The plot revolves around a married cook and it aims to spread a message that a passionate woman can be successful doing whatever she wants to do and we can’t judge her worth comparing her to a man. While the plot will primarily highlight the married cook’s existential quest, it will also shed light on the husband's struggles with the criteria by which a man’s worth is judged in society.
Parambrata who is also playing Subhashree’s husband in the film apart from directing it says ‘Boudi Canteen' is about women empowerment and the incredible rise of a lady from a very normal life of a housewife. The story follows a family going through awkward times hoping for a better future ahead and filled with loads of twists and turns.
Sharing more details about her character in the film, Subhashree said her character Poulomi will inspire many women who can rise up against all odds and achieve anything in life. It’s a heartening story of redefining identity and the actress is all excited to be a part of the film.
The film also has Soham Chakraborty, Anusuya Mazumder , Arun Banerjee , Pushan Dasgupta, Pinaki Majumder, Sumit Dutta, Abhijit Guha, Avery Singha Royand Debanjan Mitra in key roles.
‘Boudi Canteen’ is set to release in theatres during Durga Puja this year.
