Chitrangada on handling pandemic stress: Painting has calmed me down as a person

Satarupa, who stays in Mumbai for the most part of the year, has been living in Kolkata for quite some time now due to the ongoing pandemic situation. She is keeping herself busy at home with lots of activities. From attending weekend acting workshops and cooking to interacting with her fans on live chat sessions and doing other household chores, Chitrangada is making the most of her time while staying cooped up at home.

Talking to us about what’s keeping her motivated during this tough phase that we all are going through, the actress said, “I think what motivates me the most during the current situation is

painting

and sketching. I love to draw and it helps me realise my present state of mind through the strokes of brushes I put on the canvas. If I am too anxious, my hand movements will be in a certain way, and if I am in a relaxed mood, then my artwork turns out to be something different. But to some extent, I think in this pandemic, painting has really calmed me down as a person. It’s really therapeutic for me. That apart, I love to sing with my ukulele, dance to my heart’s content, cook, read my favourite books, and whenever I get time, I cuddle with my pets. These things really help me stay motivated in these times.”

On the work front, there are a few projects in the pipeline for Chitrangada. “I have shot for a few projects which are yet to release, but I can’t divulge much about that. I am also part of a national project that I am really looking forward to. The character that I am playing in that is really interesting and something that the audience hasn’t seen before. In future, I also have the desire to work with my sister Ritabhari in some project if a director approaches us with an intriguing script,” added Chitrangada. The actress, along with her mother, Satarupa Sanyal, and sister also headed to Darjeeling in June for a mini vacation.
