Principal photography for
Chheledhora is set to begin on March 1. The family thriller is written and directed by
Shieladitya Moulik and stars Swastika Mukherjee in the lead. An Indo-American co-production, the film will be shot across the largely unexplored locations of Itanagar and Ziro Valley.
Following his earlier Bengali feature
Surjo, Moulik returns with a genre-blending narrative that combines family drama, thriller elements and understated dark humour. Positioned as a road movie,
Chheledhora centres on a morally complex female protagonist and explores themes of parenthood, guilt, responsibility and emotional neglect.
The film follows Brishti, a divorced and emotionally conflicted woman who impulsively takes her young daughter on a birthday trip, only for events to spiral when the child is genuinely abducted. What follows is an unexpected discovery that propels Brishti into a volatile, life-altering journey.

Vincenzo Condorelli
Italian cinematographer Vincenzo Condorelli will lens the film. Production is scheduled to continue through the end of March, with further casting announcements expected soon.
