‘Lokkhi Chhele’ first-look poster creates a buzz

On Lakshmi Puja, Kaushik Ganguly launched the first look of his upcoming film ‘Lokkhi Chhele’ which stars none other than his son Ujaan Ganguly in the lead. Bankrolled by Nandita Roy and Shiborpsad Mukherjee’s Windows Production, the story of this is inspired by a real-life incident. In the poster, you can see Ujaan holding on to a kid with four arms. Sounds interesting right! ‘Lokkhi Chhele’ will hit the theatres next year. This is the first time the National Award-winning director is working with his son who made his debut last year with ‘Rosogolla’.

‘Durgo Rahashya’ is Parambrata’s next Byomkesh film

Based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s story ‘Mognomainak’, Sayantan Ghosal directed ‘Satyanweshi Byomkesh’ offered a different take on Byomkesh from earlier adaptations. While in most of the previous Byomkesh films crime had found its way into family relationships and vengeance, ‘Satyanweshi Byomkesh’ highlights the political aspect of a murder mystery. And now, after all those appreciations and critical acclaims, Sayantan Ghosal’s next Byomkesh film has been announced and it will be based on Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay’s another epic story ‘Durgo Rahashya’. The makers have already dropped the first-look poster from the film and it surely doubles excitement among the Byomkesh fans. The poster features Parambrata as the charismatic detective while Rudranil Ghosh is once again ready to essay Ajit.

Indrasis Acharya’s ‘Parcel’ receives two festival laurels

Indrasis Acharya’s next ‘Parcel’ has already made movie lovers buzzing about it for the ensemble casting. The film stars Saswata Chatterjee, Rituparna Sengupta, Sreela Majumder, Ambarish Bhattacharya and Daminee Basu among others. And now here’s a piece of good news for those who are eagerly waiting for the film. ‘Parcel’ has received two festival laurels. While it will be representing the 100 years of Bengali cinema at the 14th Jogja NETPAC Asian film festival in Indonesia, the second one is the official selection in competition section at the Diorama international film festival in Delhi.

Ritabhari shoots with Katrina Kaif

Ritabhari Chakraborty who will next be seen in Aritra Mukherjee’s next a social satire ‘Brahma Janen Gopon Kommoti’ recently shot for an advertisement campaign in Mumbai. Any guess with whom she shared the frame in this Diwali campaign? Well, its Bollywood diva Katrina Kaif and Ritabhari calls the experience a super chill one. The pretty actress will also be shooting with Amitabh Bachchan as well for the ad campaign and revealed how she was left in complete awe when she met the Bollywood superstar at a private Puja gathering recently.

‘Dwitiyo Purush’, ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’ hits the floor

On October 16, SVF celebrated mahurat of two most anticipated films – Srijit Mukherji’s ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ and Pratim D Gupta’s ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’. Srijit started shooting for his next film ‘Dwitiyo Purush’ from October 18. It’s the sequel to his another blockbuster thriller ‘Baishe Srabon’. Meanwhile, Arjun Chakrabarty has replaced Jisshu Sengupta in Pratim’s ‘Love Aaj Kal Porshu’ which also marks the big screen debut of popular TV actress Madhumita. The shoot will start from the second week of November.

Arindam Sil announces his next ‘Mitin Mashi’

Koel Mallick has received a lot of appreciation for essaying the role of a female detective in Arindam Sil’s ‘Mitin Mashi’. The detective thriller is enjoying a great box office run in its second week and captain of the ship, director Arindam Sil, feels there’s a lot to the story of ‘Mitin Mashi’. The female sleuth character is the mere reflection of modern women and that’s why people can relate to the character. And now the overwhelming audience reaction has convinced Arindam to make the next film of Mitin Mashi franchise and it will be released during Puja next year. The film will be based on another Suchitra Bhattacharya story ‘Keralay Kistimat’. The ace director doesn’t want to break the winning combination, so cast will be more or less same. Bickram Ghosh will once again helm the music department.

Nusrat celebrates her first Karwa Chauth

Nusrat Jahan on Thursday celebrated her first Karwa Chauth with husband Nikhil Jain. The Bengali beauty, who is Trinamool Congress MP from Basirhat, was looking resplendent in a red sari with gold jewelry. Nikhil too complemented the actress in a blue kurta-pyjama. It looks like Nikhil too observed the fast for his wife. The pictures say Nusrat broke the fast after drinking water from Nikhil's hand. The couple posed for some adorable pictures in between the celebrations.
