Get ready to check in at Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel — where laughter meets the paranormal
The poster of the upcoming Bengali film Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel has been unveiled, offering audiences a tantalising glimpse into a story that promises to blend horror, humour, and heart in equal measure.
Directed by Aritra Mukherjee, the film brings together an ensemble cast led by Mimi Chakraborty and Soham Majumder as one pair, and Bonny Sengupta and Swastika as the other. The cast also features Kanchan Mullick, Manashi Singha and Anamika Saha in significant roles.
The newly launched poster captures a grand ballroom scene — two couples dancing the tango as a few curious onlookers watch from the staircase behind. The intriguing composition hints at mystery, mischief, and madness, while the accompanying background score amplifies the film’s haunting yet playful mood.
Speaking about the project, Aritra shared, “This film is our attempt to create a world where humour and horror coexist. It’s not just about ghosts and scares — it’s about finding warmth, laughter, and a bit of chaos in the most unexpected places. This genre has always fascinated me, and I’m excited to bring it to life with such a talented team.”
The story draws inspiration from a stay in an old colonial-era hotel in Kalimpong, where long, solitary walks down dimly lit corridors sparked the eerie yet humorous idea behind the film. The narrative, while rooted in the supernatural, also reflects on the human condition — exploring fear, connection, and the absurdities of life through laughter and suspense.
With Bhanupriya Bhooter Hotel, the makers are set to explore new creative terrain in Bengali cinema, promising audiences a refreshing and entertaining experience that intertwines spookiness with soul.
