As per the Hindu mythology, Ganesh Chaturthi or Vinayak Chaturthi happens to be the birthday of Lord Ganesh, which is celebrated throughout the country for 10 days. The 10-day long festival starts with murti sthapna (shen people brings home the idols of Lord Ganesha), puja, traditional dance, distribution of several sweet delicacies (Modak and laddoo) and lastly murti visarjan.
