Here’s why Tuhina loved the story of her next film

Actress Tuhina Das just finished dubbing for Rohan Sen’s Aparajita and is quite excited about it. The film is based on a father-daughter relationship, with veteran actor Shantilal Mukherjee playing the father and Tuhina, his daughter.

“The story is really interesting and that was the primary reason I said yes to the film,” Tuhina told us, adding that it’s about a father and his daughter who live in the same house, but do not speak to each other. “The reason — the daughter holds the father responsible for her mother, Aparajita’s death and refuses to speak to him. But they do communicate through a diary. Every day, before leaving for work,

notes down what has been cooked for the day and reminders about which medicine her father is supposed to take and when. Then slowly, things take a turn for the better.”

Tuhina told us that she’s currently reading several scripts and will start work after Puja. She also played

in Soumitra Chattopadhyay’s biopic Abhijaan. When asked about it, the actress told us that it was a great honour to be a part of the film and play such an important character.
