Ishan Mazumder is a proud father and why not? The Bengali actor’s daughter Inika recently won Bronze at the 28th West Bengal Open Full Contact Karate Championship for the 14-16 age group. She not only bravely fought in the very first tournament of her life but has also shown enough potential to appear at the national level.
An excited Ishan shares, “My daughter has always been keen on her academics, performing arts, fine arts and sports. This is the first state-level recognition in our family in sports after our generation. My dad who expired recently would have been very happy for this. He was a football player. Inika took participation in the karate championship and look how she has excelled. We are so proud of her. She has been training at Shivaji Gaanguly's Academy for quite some time now. She is next planning for the national level competition which is going to take place in December. Thanks to Shivaji Ganguly, Shyamantak Ganguly, and Shibayan Ganguly for their support. They had come up to me and they told me that she should take part in state level as well the national level championship.”
He further added, “It’s so good to see when your kid achieving such success. I used to read a lot about how R Madhavan’s son Vedaant has made his father proud winning a number of medals, most recently in the 47th Junior National Aquatic Championship. I wish to see my daughter achieving the same glory making us proud.”
Meanwhile, on the work front, up next for Ishan is the second season of the web series 'Nikhoj', directed by Ayan chakrabarti. He also has 'Kotobar bhebhechinu' with Payel Sarkar and Darshana. The film is being directed by Sayan Basu Chowdhury.
