‘Ishkabon’, a political drama on Maoist issue in Bengal

Mandip Saha’s directorial debut ‘Ishkabon’ is a political drama on the Maoism issue in Bengal against the backdrop of a politically turbulent time. The feature-length Bengali film will be shot in the picturesque Jhargram. The plot also sees a love triangle that blooms between the Maoist leader, played by Sourav Das, and his second in command Anamika Chakraborty and a CRPF jawan. The story is also about revolution and how the girl’s journey as a Naxal activist changes her life. Other than Anamika and Sourav, the cast also includes Arindam Ganguly, Sumit Ganguly, Pushpita Mukherjee and Kharaj Mukherjee in key roles. Anamika will be making her film debut with this film after becoming a household name playing an important character in the TV serial Ekhane Akash Neel and the actress is looking forward to playing such a challenging character in her first film.
