Indrajit comes to Ballabhpur after 10 long years. It seems to him that his village has gone through tremendous change, because of which he is unable to relate to the people and places as he used to. He gets nostalgic and can almost see how these 10 years have brought out a change not only in his surroundings, but also in himself. The story unveils with the journey of Indrajit, the eldest son, endeavouring to find his own self.

Gargee, who plays Sudeshna in the film, is happy to work with Kaushik after Khaad. “If Khaad had given me 70 per cent satisfaction as an actor, Jyeshthoputro gave me much more fulfillment. Working with a director like Kaushik Ganguly enriches you as an actor. He will give an actor all the freedom but will also draw a boundary so that one doesn’t go overboard. While my character in Khaad was of a heroine, who was kind of unreachable, Sudeshna is like us. I can’t reveal much about the character but from what we see in the trailer, it shows jyeshthoputro is dependent on Sudeshna in some ways and can visit her house late at night. There is some sort of comfort between the two. Sudeshna can tell him, ‘ki emon kotha jeta sokale bola gelona!’. So, it is evident that there is a relationship between the two,” said the actress.
