I grew up in this city and the most heartwarming thing about living here is that I have my family and friends around. If there’s something Kolkata is particularly passionate about, it has to be food. I travel across the world and never have I found a place that is so passionate about food. From big restaurants to small roadside shacks, the variety of food available here and the emotions and stories attached to them are simply unparalleled.
Besides food, there is enormous nostalgia revolving around several nooks and corners of the city. That gets reflected in the architecture, literature and every aspect of Kolkata. Sometimes, when I look around, I get goosebumps because of all the history and memories I have of these places. Kolkata is not one of those cities that encourage cut-throat competitions. This place offers a sense of familiarity.
Kolkata’s passion for para culture is unique and very dear to me. The vibe of this city is extremely infectious and very difficult to put into words. The camaraderie that we share with our neighbours and friends, even with the people we barely know, is a culture that I have never seen anywhere else. Kolkatans are always high on life. They celebrate together, eat together, play football together and live happily with each other. That is unique and one of the most distinguished passions running in this city’s veins.
