Jashojeet

Banerjee — has signed up for a short film. While the production is helmed by his father, actor

Jayjit

Banerjee, Manas Basu is wielding the megaphone for it. “Manas Basu, Debabrata Samanta, Uttam Kumar Das and I collaborate for production of shorts. Soumitra Chatterjee had acted in our Aurora Borealis. Then, the second was Poetic Justice. This is our third venture that has Jashojeet,

Debleena

Dutt Mukherjee and

Laboni

Sarkar,” said Jayjit. Titled 1.4 GB, the short film will do rounds of the international festival circuit. About how Jashojeet landed the part, his father elaborated, “He is 12 now, but he started watching films as a child. He is into Avengers, Spider-Man and those films and also keeps talking about the actors’ performances in the films. Earlier, he would watch Bollywood films, but now his taste in cinema has changed a bit. The first film that he saw on his own was Anindya Chattopadhyay’s Monojder Adbhut Bari. Though he watched the film alone, I ended up spending for three people as he bought two tubs of popcorn and two colas. When Manasda, who has come up with the story, told me that he wanted Jashojeet to play the part, I was in two minds, as convincing him was more important than anything else. Jashojeet asked for the story and once he read it, he decided to do it on his own.” Shooting for the film is already over and the director is happy with the way it has shaped up.
