's famous 'Mahisasuramardini' program aired on radio, to celebrate the advent of 'Devi Paksha' during Durga Puja.

According to reports, Prosenjit wants to send ‘Mahalaya’ to film festivals all around the world as he believes the content of the film makes it a movie ahead of its time. The Tollywood superstar is also trying to reach out to the global audience on a large scale.

The plot of this film revolves around the 1976 'Mahisasuramardini' program which had Uttam Kumar's voiceover in place of

Birendra Krishna Bhadra

. It followed uproar from the Bengalees and as a result, the original 'Mahisasurmardini' broadcast had to be brought back.

Jisshu Sengupta will portray Uttam Kumar on the celluloid, while Subhamoy Chatterjee will play Pankaj Mullick and Subhashish Mukherjee will be seen as Birendra Krishna Bhadra. Prosenjit Chatterjee will essay out the role of a non-Bengali official with a conservative mindset.
