‘Mayuraskhi’ has enjoyed a winning spree of awards since its release in December last year. The emotional family drama has also traveled so many international film festivals and the
Atanu Ghosh directorial has pulled the right chords among the audience wherever it has been screened. Now, another feather has been added to its crown. The film will be premiered at the Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival in Pittsburgh, USA on September 23 and 29.
The director himself took to Twitter to share the good news.
‘Mayurakshi’ beautifully narrates an emotional display of an aged and ailing father and his son who comes to meet him from the USA after receiving urgent call about his father’s deteriorating health condition. The father for some unknown reason has ceased to communicate with the world around him and the son is torn inside between sweet old memories and the current situation which is a reality in present day urban India.
The film’s main USP is the acting. Prosenjit’s portrayal of Aryanil, the NRI son, is among one of his finest performances.
Soumitra Chatterjee in the role of Aryanil’s father Susobhan is iconic as well.
Sudiptaa Chakraborty as the house-keeper is also good.
