Vettaiyan movie review and box office collection LIVE updates: Rajinikanth film opens with Rs 70 crore globally
Directed by TJ Gnanavel, 'Vettaiyan' is an action drama starring an ensemble cast of Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier, Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Abhirami, Rakshan, Rohini, Rao Ramesh and Ramesh Thilak. The music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The movie marks the 70th film of Rajinikanth and the technical crew consisrs of cinematographer S. R. Kathir and editor by Philomin Raj. The film was initially set to clash in the theatres on October 10 with Suriya's 'Kanguva' but producer Gnanavel Raja postponed the period action drama, directed by Siva to November 14.

The opening day box office number for 'Vettaiyan' is out now, and the film grossed around Rs 70 crore worldwide, according to Cinetrak. In Tamil Nadu, 'Vettaiyan' earned around Rs 22 crore, while the domestic collection of the film is estimated to be around Rs 46 crore. 'Vettaiyan' featuring Rajinikanth in the lead role has arrived in theatres today (Oct 10), and the film has been released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada languages. 'Vettaiyan' is off to a lavish start as Rajinikanth's film always does. It's one more $1 million film for the Superstar Rajinikanth in the North American premiere. According to Cinetrak, 'Vettaiyan' grossed around $1.1 million from the North American premiere, and it splits between $900K from USA and around $220K from Canada.
