The magic of southern cinema is spreading across India, bringing in a larger share to the overall revenue of the entertainment space than ever before. Films like ‘Pushpa’, ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ or ‘RRR’ struck gold at the box office and the trend doesn’t seem to be ending. The commercial fate of a film has become unpredictable despite the common notion of content being called the ultimate king. Mimi Chakraborty whose latest release ‘Khela Jawkhon’ has received appreciation from critics and fans alike, too, feels it has become unpredictable and one can’t predict what the audience will accept.

“We have seen Bollywood biggies flopping and films from the South striking gold at the box office. Small-budget films have also become blockbusters. For Khela Jawkhon, I would like to say that as an artiste I am satisfied with what I have done. I am really proud of Khela Jawkhon. The great part is that I could play all these diverse characters in the last few years. Mini is very close to me. I received a lot of appreciation for what I did... my performance was talked-about,” shared Mimi while speaking about the current box office scenario.

Meanwhile, speaking about her Bollywood debut, the actress shared, “I have just completed shooting Posto in Hindi. It is a tremendous experience working in Bollywood. Most of the creative people working in Bombay are Bengalis…. The budget is humongous. They hardly shoot two scenes a day. We shoot 18-19 scenes a day in Bengal. In Bollywood you get to sleep, take care of yourself, take breaks in between. In Bengal you don’t have that privilege.”
