Mumtaz Sorcar is filled with excitement for being an important part of a film like ‘Samaresh Basu’r Projapoti’ which received critical acclaim after its release on July 14. In the movie, she portrays the character Shikha, a spirited dancer who faces life with determination and dreams of a better future.
To prepare for this role, Mumtaz had to step out of her previous character ‘Jhulan’ from the sports drama ‘Shabaash Mithu’ and worked on her appearance by shedding some inches. She wanted to approach Shikha with a touch of glamour, while still maintaining the essence of her poverty-stricken background.

The film set is like a classroom for her, with directors as her teachers and co-actors as classmates, making the learning process enjoyable and competitive. The shooting experience was a blast for the actress, as she had the pleasure of working with director Subrata Sen again, who creates a calm, relaxed, and enjoyable atmosphere on set. Co-actor Subrata Dutta, with whom she had worked before, is one of her favorite colleagues, displaying a hassle-free, genuine, and caring nature akin to an older brother. Although she didn't share scenes with Rwitobroto Mukherjee and Sritama, she acknowledges their wonderful performances in the film. Lastly, Mumtaz praises the producer of the film for being incredibly supportive throughout the project.
