Musical short film ‘Faagun’ creating waves at the international arena

Partha Ganguly’s musical short film ‘Faagun’ is creating waves all around. It sees a masterpiece fusion between a thumri song and electronic world music by Abhishek Basu. The uniqueness of the concept has been lapped by everyone and the film is winning hearts in international arena. It has received nominations from prestigious film fests like Boston Galactic Stars, Eurasia International Film Festival, New York International Infest Film Festival, Calcutta International Cult Film Festival and many others.The short film has 27 more festival listings where it’s been sent.
The storyline of ‘Faagun’ revolves around Holi, the Indian festival of colours. It’s usually held in the Bengali month of 'falgun' or 'faagun' in colloquial dialect. Kolkata-based models Suvanita Pal and Debarun Swaraj play the lead roles in this short film.
The storyline and direction has received accolades winning a number of awards such as the Silver Award at the Virgin Spring Cinefest 2018. It also emerged as the semifinalist at the Los Angeles Cine Fest.
