HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has asked legislative assembly secretary to place the disqualification petitions of the turncoat BRS MLAs before assembly speaker G Prasada Kumar to fix a schedule for hearing disqualification petitions filed by the BRS as per the directions of Telangana high court.BRS MLAs KP Vivekanand and Padi Kaushik Reddy met assembly secretary Narasimha Charyulu on Wednesday and asked to place the petitions against BRS MLAs including Danam Nagender, Tellam Venkat Rao and Kadiyam Srihari. Petitions against seven more MLAs are pending with the speaker’s office.Speaking to media after giving the representation to assembly secretary, MLAs Vivekanand and Kaushik Reddy said legislative affairs minister D Sridhar Babu instead of acting as per the high court order, he spoke on the defections degrading the assembly’s respect and also high court order.The BRS leaders said when 14 people filed nominations for the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), there should be elections. But the Congress govt secretly got the nomination filed by Serlingampally MLA Arikepudi Gandhi.“Three nominations were filed on behalf of the BRS and the govt should tell who gave the fourth name and also what happened to ex-minister Harish Rao’s nomination for the PAC post,” Vivekanand said.
He also demanded Arikepudi Gandhi to tell in which party he is in now? And if he is still in BRS, he should come to Telangana Bhavan.The MLAs said by-polls in the state are inevitable once the 10 BRS MLAs, who defected to Congress party. They said the BRS earlier did not take individual MLAs from Congress and other parties, but it was party merger legally.“The Congress party leader Rahul Gandhi, who spoke on stringent law on defections, allowing his party to encourage MLAs defections in Telangana,” the MLAs said.
