NEW DELHI: A 39-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly murdering his wife in outer Delhi's Sultanpuri by strangling her with a scarf on Valentine's Day.
The deceased has been identified as a 35-year-old housewife and a resident of Sultanpuri. Her husband, who works as a driver in Punjabi Bagh, was taken into custody. The couple has two sons, aged 10 and 13.

Police have denied the claims that suspicions of an illicit affair may have led to the alleged murder. Police have clarified that no evidence supporting infidelity as a motive has emerged during the investigation so far. Officers said that the incident appears to have followed a domestic dispute between the couple.
Upon reaching the house, police found the woman lying on a mattress on the floor inside a room, with a scarf tied around her neck.
She was shifted to the hospital, where doctors declared her dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to ascertain the exact cause of death, police said.
