The Congress has become the single largest party in Telangana’s municipal polls, securing 1,347 of the 2,582 wards spread across 116 municipalities, according to the final results announced. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi came in second with 714 wards, while the Bharatiya Janata Party won 261. The remaining 256 wards were taken by other parties and Independent candidates.

The District Election Officer and Collector, Jitesh V Patil, monitoring the counting process of municipal election votes in Bhadradri Kothagudem district live via webcasting from the IDOC office. He stated that every stage in the counting centers is being supervised to ensure the process is transparent and in compliance with regulations. The Collector mentioned that strict security measures are in place in the counting halls, with micro-observers and staff working in coordination at each table. He also noted that the district-level team is continuously overseeing aspects such as the inspection of ballot box seals, vote counting, and the recording of round-wise results, issuing necessary guidelines to ensure the process proceeds without any disruptions.
In the postal ballot counting for Chandur municipality, a total of 20 votes were polled. The Congress secured 13 votes, taking a clear lead in the segment, while the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) received 6 votes. The remaining vote details are awaited as counting of regular ballots continues.
