Not just men, there are women trolls too: Sreelekha lashes out

Sreelekha Mitra is not someone who likes to mince words when it comes to online attacks. The actress took to social media to lash out on a troll who commented on her attire.

In a video, the actress was seen wearing a spaghetti strapped top, on which a woman posted a comment questioning her decency. To this, Sreelekha wrote, “And you thought only men do this.” While talking to us, Sreelekha said, “A lot of my friends say that I should ignore and let it go. But I have a problem with that. No one can just come and bodyshame me. If I don’t speak up, then what will happen to all the voiceless women? Besides men, women can also be nasty trolls. It is important that these trolls learn how to respect others.”

. Referring to that incident, the actress said, “Trolling people is a disease. Rimjhim and I had barely worked together and she just s**tshamed me on social media. Yes, it is obnoxious. But what to do? The basic civility is vanishing from our society. If people forget how to respect their fellow citizens, it is our duty to remind them what is civil and what is not. Protesting against something is one thing. But no one has any right to talk or comment on someone’s body shape, skin colour or their personal life. I just take note of these judgemental and mean people. I try to stay away from them.”
