Veteran actor
Paresh Rawal was spotted near Lake Market in south Kolkata on Saturday shooting for an upcoming Hindi film. The shooting schedule was kept a secret to stay away from the media glare but the moment locals recognized the popular actor hundreds of them swelled to watch the acting powerhouse.
The new look he sported was quite an interesting one. With grey stubble, black-rimmed spectacles and a maroon kurta, Paresh Rawal looked every bit ‘aam admi’.
However, it’s not yet clear which film he was shooting for but actor-director Ananth Mahadevan’s presence on the set suggests that it might be the long-delayed project titled ‘The Storyteller’.
‘The Storyteller’, in Bengali originally titled ‘Golpo Boliye Tarini Khuro’ — is a popular story among the 15 adventures of
Satyajit Ray’s iconic creation ‘Tarini Khuro’. Rawal came on board for the project back in 2018, alongside
Naseeruddin Shah. But due to the pandemic, the shoot got delayed and the project was shelved for the time being. The film also reportedly stars Revathi and
Tannishtha Chatterjee. It will be shot in Ahmedabad as well.
Meanwhile, as a humble tribute to Satyajit Ray, Ananth Mahadevan had earlier said that ‘The Storyteller’ poster will have Ray’s name on top of it.
