AMRITSAR: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly carried out raids at three locations in Amritsar, including the residence of a relative of pro-Khalistan preacher and Member of Parliament (MP) Amritpal Singh, who is currently detained in Assam’s Dibrugarh jail under the National Security Act. It is also reported that raids have been conducted in Moga.According to sources, the NIA raided the residence of Pargat Singh Sandhu ‘Furniture Wale’, an uncle of Amritpal Singh, at his home in Rayya at 5 AM on Friday. The other locations have not yet been confirmed.A member of team Amritpal alleged that the raid was conducted following a successful gathering held by them on Rakhar Punnaya on August 19, which attracted a large number of attendees.“We wonder why both the Centre and State governments are targeting us, while those involved in heinous crimes, such as extortion, are not being touched,” he alleged.
