’s family had big plans for their 50th marriage anniversary today. But with the ongoing pandemic, they had cancelled everything. “No one is in the right frame of mind to celebrate any occasion. My

and Mumtaz had made a lot of plans to celebrate this day as 50 years of marriage calls for a big celebration. But now we are celebrating at home just to make them feel good,” said Moubani Sorcar, the youngest daughter of the couple.

Moubani added that Mumtaz is baking a cake while she and Maneka are decorating their living room. “For lunch, ma cooked mutton kosha and paratha, as that’s Baba’s favourite combo. At night, we’ll order in and will be going through my parent’s wedding album. Baba and ma would again tell us about their first meeting at a Puja pandal on Asthami. Baba was 22 and ma was 12 and it was love at first sight. All our friends call them magical love birds.”
