The first look of
Abhimanyu Mukherjee’s next directorial ‘
Piya Re
’ has already been released. The romantic drama stars
Soham Chakraborty and
Srabanti Chatterjee in the lead. While speaking about the film, Soham recently gave some hints about the narrative of the film.
According to reports, he said that it’s a relatable story of a middle-class couple who work hard to achieve their dreams. Despite being his first film with Abhimanyu, the actor admits the director has done a decent job.
The romantic drama, reportedly, deals with the story of Rabi (Soham) and Riya (Srabanti). Happy-go-lucky Rabi coming from a middle-class family falls in love with Riya, who lives with her mother and drunkard brother Madhav. Rabi and Riya’s love story then stumbles upon a rich guy Aditya is who also in love with Riya. What happens next is the film all about.
Abhimanyu’s directorial debut ‘Noor Jahan’ scored average business at the box-office and didn’t impress the critics also. He is now looking for a much better response with the popular onscreen jodi Soham and Srabanti. It will be the pair’s sixth film together.

in pivotal roles. The music has been composed by
Jeet Gannguli.
