Popular television actress Soumitrisha Kundu is all excited about her big break in Tollywood. Last month when the announcement was made that Soumitrisha will be seen opposite Dev in the upcoming film ‘Pradhan’ it raised quite a few eyebrows. While many congratulated Soumitrisha, there were others who claimed that she got the break because of her good relationship with Dev. However, later the actress cleared the air insisting that she had to give an audition to get the role and there was no such thing as ‘favour’.
Meanwhile, Dev’s fans are eagerly waiting for the film, being directed by Avijit Sen. We hear that camera will start rolling next month and a large portion of the shoot will be done in the picturesque hilly areas of North Bengal. During the recent question-answer session with fans on Twitter Dev gave a big update saying that he will soon come to North Bengal to shoot for ‘Pradhan’. Right now Dev is busy with the fourth schedule of his upcoming Byomkesh film and he will start shooting for ‘Pradhan’ after completing ‘Byomkesh O Durgo Rahashya’. The film will see Dev playing the quintessential Bengali sleuth for the first time and it will release ahead of Independence Day this year.
Dev and Avijit Sen have already delivered a massive hit this year with ‘Projapati’. It will be interesting to see how things work out in ‘Pradhan’. Also, this film marks the reunion of the trio Dev-Paran Bandopadhyay and Avijit Sen after ‘Tonic’, their last film together. However, Paran Bandopadhyay is now recovering at home after falling sick due to the extreme summer heat and he will only start shooting after at least a one-month rest.
