Prosenjit Chatterjee just can’t stop praising
Soumik Haldar
, the cinematographer of Nirontor (The Prologue). “I know Soumik for a very long time and this film wouldn’t have been possible without him. People, who have watched the film, said that the
cinematography
of Nirontor is like poetry on canvas. The film talks about hope amid crisis, just like the situation we are in right now,” said the actor, who plays a pivotal role in the film.
According to Prosenjit, the best part about Soumik is that he understands cinema. “I still remember, it was me who suggested his name to Rituparno Ghosh for Noukadubi and we bonded ever since. Soumik is always open to ideas and suggestions. He can mould himself easily according to subjects.”
For Soumik, cinematography is just another tool to help a filmmaker tell a complete story, said Chandrasish, director of the film. “Nirontor is one film that would not have happened without him,” he added.
Other than Prosenjit, the film also stars Ankita Majhi and Satyam Bhattacharya, who are from theatre backgrounds.
