R Madhavan cheers for ‘Surjo’; Wishes the best to the team ahead of the film’s release on July 19

Team ‘Surjo’ has a new cheerleader around the corner. It is none other than the acclaimed actor R Madhavan. The ‘3 Idiots’ famed actor recently took to social media and wished the team of ‘Surjo’ best before their film release. ‘Surjo’ starring Vikram Chatterjee is adapted from the Tamil film ‘Maara’, which was an adaptation of the Malayalam film ‘Charlie’. Madhavan, who played the male protagonist on ‘Maara’ wished team ‘Surjo’ saying, “'Maara' was very very special. The story, the characters, and the depiction were absolutely beautiful. I could relate so very much to the character! I wish the producer, Vikram Chatterjee, and the entire cast and crew all the best for the adaptation of the film in Bangla. I do hope ‘Surjo’ wins all the hearts across the world!”

The cast and crew of ‘Surjo’ are of course elated by Madhavan’s wishes. Vikram posted the video on social media, writing, “Here’s #Maara wishing #Surjo a fantastic run at the cinemas and straight into the audiences hearts. Cant thank you enough Maddy sir, all my love!”

Helmed by Shieladitya Moulik, ‘Surjo’ is an upcoming Bengali film that claims to narrate the weirdest love story of the year. ‘Surjo’ stars Vikram Chatterjee in the titular character, with Madhumita Sarcar and Darshana Banik in vital roles. The trailer of the film and the songs are already winning the hearts of the audience.

‘Surjo’, is adapted from the well-known Malayalam film ‘Charlie’. ‘Charlie’, which starred Dulquer Salmaan, Parvathy, Aparna Gopinath, and others, released in 2015. The film shows the separate journeys of Tessa (played by Parvathy), Charlie (played by Dulquer Salmaan), and Kani (played by Aparna Gopinath) and how they cross each other’s paths only to leave a lasting impact. In ‘Surjo’, Vikram will be taking over the role of Charlie, as Surjo. Madhumita will be seen portraying Tessa and Darshana will essay Kani in the film.
‘Surjo’ is produced by ‘Innovative Films’ and the film will have a theatrical release this year on July 19.
