) on August 28. He was admitted at a city nursing home due to a heart ailment and was later tested

COVID

positive. The shraddh ceremony was solemnised today. “I still can’t believe that he is not there anymore. We performed the puja and all the shraddh rituals today,” Raj said.

Speaking about his father, Raj said, “His world used to be my mother, sisters, Subhashree and me. He used to call me Shibu and Subhashree, Sona ma. He was on cloud nine the day he came to know that we are expecting our first child. But he couldn’t see his grandchild. Subhashree is still finding it hard to accept the fact that Baba is no more. She was his daughter, and not Raj’s wife.”

Shared how his father used to call him every day to know whether he had his lunch, Raj added, “I am still going through our WhatsApp chats where he used to ask me whether I had eaten anything. Baba’s favourite food was mutton and rice and that used to be our fixed menu every Sunday. Half an hour after lunch, Baba used to drink tea and my mother used to get furious,” he said.
