A series of murders have set the residents of a metro city on edge. Investigations are already underway but terror strikes one after another. Arudipto Dasgupta’s thriller ‘Café Wall’ is set against this backdrop and promises an intense suspense thriller.
Bengalis have always been fascinated by mystery and thrillers, which frequently find their way into Bengali cinema. ‘Cafe Wall’ promises to be another addition to this genre. The film boasts of well-known faces from the industry, ranging from Rajatabha Dutta, Aryann Bhowmik, Debraj Mukherjee to Supriya Dutta.
As the story unfolds, an unknown terror grips the city. Murders are happening one after the other. Even the highest-ranking police officers are unable to pinpoint the culprit or make any headway in the investigation. Residents are paralyzed with fear, constantly wondering who the killer's next victim will be. This pervasive anxiety has led to sleepless nights, and many are now fearful of going out after dark. Amidst this chaos, Mr. Bannerjee, an officer from the Special Branch, portrayed by Rajatabha Dutta, is called in to solve the case. Rajatabha is no stranger to detective roles, having previously taken on sleuth characters in series like ‘Badh’ or ‘Inspector Nalinikanta’. Now, in ‘Cafe Wall’, he has to trace the origins of these murders. The trail takes Mr. Bannerjee to the mountainous abode of Anannya, played by Rupsha Chattopadhyay. The big question remains: how will he catch the murderer?
An intriguing aspect of this film is its label as a 'mythological thriller,' possibly a first-of-its-kind in Tollywood. Speaking about the film’s story, Rajatava says, "Tollywood has never seen a film with such a concept and everyone loved acting in this film." While Arudipto is the director, the script has been written by Kumar Abhijeet and Raja Adhikari. Popular singer Sobhan Ganguly has recorded a soul-stirring song for this film and it earned quite a lot of praise since its release.
Recently the official trailer and music of the film were launched in presence of the cast and crew. The thriller is set to release on August 25.
