Rituparno's missing her father

Rituparno Ghosh won the National Award for the Best Director for ���������Abohomaan���������. Says Rituparno, ���������I don���������t know whether it���������s the happiest or the saddest day for me. I am missing my father so much today. I lost him last month. It was my father who used totreasure all of my awards.��������� As for the film, the director says, ���������I���������ve been accused of working with stars from Bollywood.
I was supposed to make this film with Amitabh Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar and Deepti Naval. It would have been the acting debut of Farhan Akhtar. But when I decided to make it in Bengali, I cast actors from Kolkata. Ananya came from a television background. I had watched her on television and had become an admirer of her acting talent. Jisshu was in the process of becoming an actor from a hero. I didn���������t use his hero status in the film. Working with them was enjoyable.��������� What about the longevity of arthouse cinema? ���������Longevity depends on the inherent merit of a film. The longevity varies from film to film and has nothing to do with which school they belong to.���������
