Two powerhouse actors are set to share the screen for the first time in Ron Raj’s directorial debut ‘Parichoy Gupta’. Filled with dollops of mystery and thrill, the upcoming Bengali film sees Ritwick Chakraborty and Indraneil Sengupta in the lead. The cast also includes popular actors like Joy Sengupta, Pradeep Bhattacharya, Sabyasachi Chakraborty and Raunak Bhattacharya in key roles while Ayantika Banerjee is making her debut as a lead actor. Shooting for the film was recently wrapped up and the director says it was a thrilling journey.
The plot revolves around a zamindar and his dear friend, an archaeologist, in the 1950s. "The name 'Parichoy Gupta' means the secret identity of something. Every person in the society has this secret identity. But maybe under the pressure of family, under the pressure of society, they keep that talent hidden," explained the director adding that since it’s a thriller there are loads of twists and turns in the story.
Ritwick will be seen as the blind zamindar and Indraneil takes on the role of his archaeologist friend. Since it’s a period film, the director took almost two years to finalize the script. Joy Sengupta will be seen in an interesting character who used to be dressed as a girl in his childhood and as he grows up it seems to be a female soul trapped into a male’s body.
While Suvendu Adhikari is composing the music, the story is by Ayantika Banerjee and screenplay is by the director himself.
