Rukmini to debut in a Bollywood film opposite Vidyut Jammwal

Actress Rukmini Maitra is all set to act in a

Bollywood film

opposite Vidyut Jammwal and her good friend Dev couldn’t be happier. “Only Dev, apart from my family, knew about the project. He was optimistic from the very beginning,” said an excited Rukmini.
After the actress shared the news with her fans on social media, Dev tweeted:
“Super super proud of u girl. Now make Bengal Proud U were born to Rule... Best wishes to the entire cast n crew of #Sanak (sic),” to which Rukmini replied: “Thank you Dev! And also thank you for being my forever constant (sic)”.
The film, titled

Sanak

, an out-and-out action thriller, is being directed by Kanishk Verma. Confirming the news, Rukmini said, “Yes, I am part of the action extravaganza. The story has a love angle to it and shows how people go out of their ways when love is in danger. The team is very warm to work with. I met Vidyut. He is extremely grounded and that has made the

work atmosphere

even more comfortable,” said the actress.
But how did she bag the project, we ask. “The team was looking for a fresh face and they zeroed in on me seeing my body of work. They first contacted me when I was busy shooting for Switzerland. Then, they contacted me again. They asked me to send a video for an audition and I got selected,” said the actress, adding, “People are asking me whether acting in

Bollywood

was my dream. But it is not so. To me, the content of the film matters and not the language.”
Soon, Rukmini will also start shooting for Rahul Mukherjee’s rom-com Kishmish, opposite Dev.
