Saurav Palodhi's short film to premiere at SRFTI

and actor Gaurav Chakrabarty have come together for a short film, Parking. The film will be screened at SRFTI for the first time on September 30.

“We have just completed the film and have sent it to a number of film festivals. We are hosting the first screening in Kolkata. On the invite list are people who have shown keen interest in the film. I am hoping that they like it,” the director informed.

While musician Debdeep Mukherjee has composed music for the 24-minute-long film, Madhura Palit has donned the hat of the DOP. Saurav, along with his long-time associate AruragRoychowdhury, has penned the script.

Elaborating on the storyline, Saurav said, “The film is about a parking attendant, Sarowar, who hallucinates that he is a king when he parks others’ cars. The only reason he chose this profession is so he could drive different cars. For the first time, perhaps, you will see Gaurav playing a character that is not very polished.”

While talking about his character, Gaurav said, “I always get to play characters like NRIs or barir bhalo jamai. This character will help me evaluate myself as an actor. Besides, Saurav is a friend and I loved working with him in Colkatay Columbus. So, I took little time to give my nod to the offer.”
