Sohini to lead in a film inspired by her father Rudraprasad’s play

Sohini Sengupta is back from North Bengal. The actress was shooting for

Sujit Pyne

’s debut film

Megh Bari

along with Kaushik Ganguly there. “We were shooting at Lataguri and Jhalong. One day of the shoot is left to be completed in Kolkata. Debshankar Haldar and I used to stage a play titled Antoh Aadi Antoh. It was written by my father Rudraprasad Sengupta. The story of the film is inspired by the play,” said Sohini. She added, “The story of the film is about a divorced couple. And what happens when they meet again after years. The crux of the story is that love and companionship are beyond the institution of marriage. Marriage might break between two human beings but feelings for each other remain. Basically, the film is a conversation between two people. The way Sujit has captured the film is brilliant.”
Sohini had a wonderful time working with Kaushik for the first time in this film. The actress said, “Sharing the screen space with Kaushik da was so enriching. There is so much to learn from him.”
Sohini is also a part of Souvik Kundu’s film Ai Khuku Ai where she plays a negative character for the first time. “Essaying a negative character is so much fun and I really enjoyed playing a political villain in this film,” said the actress who is presently busy shooting for three mega serials- Khorkuto, Guddi, and

Sona Rodder Gaan
