for giving the director his dream

Feluda

whom he can direct. “Tota not only is the ideal match physically but his personality also matches the iconic sleuth. Be it the never-say-die attitude or his supreme fitness, everything matches Feluda,” says Srijit Mukherji after announcing his next ‘Feludar Goyendagiri’.

This time Satyajit Ray’s yet another popular Feluda story ‘Darjeeling Jawmjawmat’ has been adapted. “I was so happy during the shoot. Frankly speaking, I have never been this much happy while shooting any series or film. It’s like a part of my childhood and I knew that nothing can take away the happiness from me” added the acclaimed director.

Meanwhile, Anirban Chakrabarti who plays Jatayu admitted that playing the iconic Jatayu character is a huge achievement. “I will urge all not to compare this work with the Feluda films and series done before. We gave our best to deliver something new. So no comparison with previous works,” requested Anirban.

An emotional Tota also recalled an incident when after the screening of ‘Tintorettor Jishu’ a young man in a black Punjabi and long hair had reached out to him. That young lad had said that if he ever makes Feluda he would cast Tota. And that young man is Srijit Mukherji. The actor also thanked the director for considering him for such a challenging role as Feluda.

“You all know that I have never been greedy for any role in my career. But when Srijit called me up in 2019 saying that he wants me as Feluda, I was more than eager to accept the offer. This is a dream role. Who would ever reject such a role?” added Tota.

He also made it clear that during the shoot they wanted to stick to the main story by Ray and also were cautious not to hurt the sentiments of the audience since Feluda is a sentiment for any Bengali out there.
